Anton Szilasi - at the age of 16 is making a positive difference in the world

The latest art exhibition being organised by the team at Roger Loughnan Real Estate has a very special focus. Entitled  'Light Up The World' the exhibition is being held to help raise funds for local teenager Anton Szilasi who at the age of 16, has started his own Aid Project.
“I have been studying for a Diploma of Renewable Energies at Nambour TAFE with a view to gaining entry to Civil and Environmental Engineering at QUT next year,” said Anton,“but a couple of years ago I went to Asia and visited some really poor areas. I was appalled at how little they had compared to the way we live in Australia and I have wanted to make a contribution ever since. What I have learned about Solar Electric Systems this year at TAFE really inspired me."
Anton got on the internet, located a small medical clinic in one of the poorest areas of India and is now working towards wiring them with solar panels and lighting.  The Abha Seva Sadan Multitherapy Charitable Health Centre in Kashijhara, Jharkhand, North East India was thrilled at his offer and after much planning, Anton is just about ready to head over there.
“The clinic only receives about two hours of unreliable power a day. A reliable lighting source will improve the centre's ability to service the surrounding villages,”said Anton.
“I also hope to install a solar powered water pump which will supply the clinic and nearby area. The power will also allow the clinic to run a reliable refrigerator for the first time.”
Anton's parents are paying for the trip but he is funding the necessary equipment from his own savings and fundraising activities.
The team at Roger Loughnan Real Estate invite community members to  'Light Up The World' to help raise funds for this fantastic project. It does not take much to make a difference and with Anton’s practical initiative this is certainly going to achieve that.
Afternoon tea shall be served during the exhibition opening at the office on Wednesday November 15, from 4 to 6pm. Enjoy a freshly brewed 'Montville Coffee' or 'Obi Obi Green Tea' whilst viewing the wonderful art works of local young people, including the works of 'Arts For Peacemakers' participants.
'Light Up The World' will continue until January 15 and all proceeds will be donated to Anton's Aid Project.
And the future for Anton Szilasi..... “I hope to use my degree to do more for people in the Third World and hopefully work for the United Nations one day" he said.
